Liberty Guesthouse, Maldives: About Us

Welcome to Liberty Guesthouse, a 10 room guesthouse located on the beach in ADh. Mahibadhoo island, in the Ari Atoll of the Maldives.

Our owner is Mr. Zala who himself is often based in the guesthouse. He speaks Dhivehi (the local Maldivian language), English, German, Italian, French and Hindi. He is a certified diving instructor and has over 30 years experience in diving and the tourism industry and in this time he has worked and gained experience in many different jobs in the industry. Mr. Zala had previously owned and operated his own dive center in a Maldivian resort and has operated 2 diving safari boats in the Maldives. We started the guesthouse business, because Zala and the staff working for Liberty Guesthouse have great experience in the Maldivian tourism industry, and we thought we would have greatly understand the needs of new and old visitors to the Maldives. Since we opened the guesthouse on 11th October 2015, our visitors have been very happy about the staff and the place.

Bikini beach

Please be aware that our guesthouse is not a resort / hotel. This is a local guesthouse in a local inhabited Maldivian island and we kindly request our visitors to know the difference between a guesthouse and a resort / hotel in the Maldives. As per local tradition and customs, bikini’s are not allowed in public spaces on local inhabited islands but you can wear shorts and t-shirts and you can wear bikini’s on the marked bikini beach on the island or on our rooftop area in the guesthouse itself. You can also wear bikini’s on boat trips to anywhere and on the deserted islands and sandbanks while on excursions.

Zala Divers

Our diving center is named after our owner, Mr. Zala. In his long professional diving career, he has been diving in the South & North of Maldives and has also dived in the Red Sea. He will be personally taking care of all our dive clients. Liberty Guesthouse Maldives is a paradise for divers as we have our own Dive Center with a diving boat and the best manta, turtle, whale shark and shark diving points in the Atoll are within reach in minutes.
